From the moment you arrive, you'll discover a rustic and rural aspect that is both engagingly rugged and beautiful. Extensive forests and national parks surround the township, and at its fringes lay the picturesque Mount Kilcoy and Sandy Creek Valleys. A popular is a visit to Yowie Park for a picnic amongst the weeping willows and water birds, overlooking the stunning Greensill Lake. Pickup your free touring guide available at our town's Visitor Information Centre situated in the Craft Cottage.

Lake Somerset is a playground for all water sports enthusiasts; wakeboarding, waterskiing, boating and fishing.  The lake stocks Australian Bass, Silver Perch, Golden Perch (Yellowbelly), Saratoga, Mary River Cod, Eel-tailed Catfish, Bony Bream and Red Claw. Live bait, tackle, reels and a wide range of lures are available from the kiosk, as well as boating and fishing permits.  If you’re wanting to come in before 7.30 am, please don’t forget to phone us the day before for an early access code.
