Located in the great Southeastern corner of Australia's sunny Queensland,
Brisbane is a river city situated just over 20 kilometres from the
mouth of the famous Brisbane River. The dense city centre is built
along, around and over the Brisbane River and has an exceptional
public transport system that links the major centres of Brisbane.
The layout of this beautiful city is also easily accessible by foot
with a series of linking walkways and bicycle paths so you can explore
the natural beauty of the river city of Brisbane.
With a range of different Brisbane lifestyle precincts that cater
for travellers of all ages and backgrounds there is something for
everyone's Queensland vacation needs. If it's a taste of the rich
history of the beautiful Queensland city of Brisbane the city is
filled with heritage listed churches and buildings. Or if it's the
modern and ever progressive arts fuelled contemporary side of Brisbane
that you would like to immerse yourself in there is plenty to do.
Covering a vast area spanning North from the Brisbane River , the
Brisbane River city encompasses a range of interesting tourist spots
in surrounding suburbs. With constant beautiful weather there are
a myriad of exciting outdoor activities to enjoy on your Brisbane
Holiday. With accommodation in a variety of locations and styles
around the Brisbane City all of this city's accommodation is easily
accessible and close to all of the local Brisbane event venues and
attractions.
Brisbane is Australia's third largest city and as you'd expect,
accommodation comes in all shapes and sizes. Whether you're after
budget backpackers hostels, business hotels, tourist parks, luxury
five star resorts, bed and breakfasts, farmstays, motels, caravan
parks, or family apartments you'll find it in Brisbane. Most of
the hotels are in the CBD area and rates are reasonable compared
with most developed countries in the world.
What you expect to pay for your Brisbane Accommodation
A five star night in one of the many luxury Brisbane hotels will
set you back as little as $115-$220 if you book standby rates on
the Internet (and who doesn't these days) and you can back a top
room in advance from around $300-$500, depending on the hotel and
time of year.
Heritage listed bed and breakfast accommodation is scattered throughout
the city and prices are around $115 for two people.
Apartment style accommodation is plentiful and a unit with a kitchen
will set you back about $100-$150 per night - this obviously depends
on the season and the style of apartment. Caravan Parks and camping
grounds can be found outside the CBD and are cheap and cheerful.
Backpackers accommodation is around $20 a night for a dorm room.
Where's the best place to stay in Brisbane?
The Brisbane CBD isn't huge, so if you're in town on business pretty
much all the main corporate hotels are within a short cab ride from
the main office buildings. If you're in Brisbane for pleasure you
might as well stay near your vice - if it's shopping you're after,
stay somewhere near the Queen Street Mall, if you're there for the
nightlife then Fortitude Valley is where it's at, and there are
plenty of hotels and apartments within walking distance of the Gabba
and Suncorp stadium if you're there for sporting or concert reasons.
If you're coming to Brisbane to check the place out, you'll get
through most of the sights in a day or two, so stay somewhere central
- anywhere on the main Brisbane peninsula is fine and that will
put you within walking distance of Southbank, the train stations
and the botanic gardens. If you have to spend a couple of weeks
in Brisbane, try an apartment in Kangaroo Point because the views
are great and the prices are cheaper. If you want easy access to
the city try somewhere just north of the city in Spring Hill. Don't
forget the Gold Coast is only 45 minutes down the road, and there's
lots more touristy things to do there, and plenty more places to
stay, so keep it open as an option as well.
The inner-Brisbane multi unit dwelling and apartment market boom
has taken off considerably over the last five years enjoying a high
level of activity. The question of it being able to continue to
absorb the ever increasing levels of supply doesn't seem in doubt
with auction clearance rates remaining steady and demand for inner-city
apartments still very strong. The result is plenty of choice if
you're looking for Brisbane accommodation, and if you want to buy,
the Brisbane real estate market is in your favour.
Inner Brisbane Apartments provides a small area focus within the
Inner Brisbane region on those sub-regions experiencing the greatest
new development and offering different demand/supply characteristics.
Sub regions are drawn from:
• Brisbane CBD/Spring Hill
• Kangaroo Point
• Fortitude Valley/New Farm/Newstead
• Southbank/West End
• Toowong/Auchenflower
• Bulimba/Hawthorne
The cost of buying or renting an apartment in Brisbane is highly
dependant on the location of the residence and its distance from
the city. Average rent for apartments ranges from $150 to $350 per
week. Most rentals in Brisbane are private properties let through
estate agents or direct by the owner. Leases are generally for 6
months. Most rental properties are unfurnished and are self contained.
If you are moving to Brisbane , it is difficult to arrange a rental
property before you arrive and you may need to arrange some temporary
accommodation in order to have enough time to thoroughly search
for what you want. |
